CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School: A Legacy of Excellence Founded in 1933 by the Sisters of the Infant Jesus (IJ), CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School was established with the mission to provide holistic education for Chinese girls, rooted in Catholic values. The St Nicholas Girls' School Heritage Corner is a 100 square metre interactive space located in the Family Lounge and adjacent to the existing heritage corridor. Created to celebrate the school's 90th anniversary, this enhanced heritage corner complements the current heritage corridor by focusing on personal micro-narratives, individual stories, and the IJ mission rather than macro developments, like events and anniversaries. The corner features interactive elements including magnetic boards for sharing memories, digital screen, jukebox of notable school songs, and first-person captions to spark conversation. This design enables students, alumnae, and visitors to forge deeper emotional connections with the school's heritage, fostering identity and belonging whilst highlighting St Nicholas's unique role as Singapore's only all-girl, Catholic-mission SAP school. |

This alumni-donated LEGO replica of the iconic school clocktower captures the school’s legacy through the authentic perspectives and experiences of current students and devoted alumni across generations. |

The heritage corner welcomes diverse external visitors who are brought on guided tours by a dedicated team of trained student-docents. They share personal anecdotes and intimate stories, transforming a simple visit into an enriching, memorable journey through the school's vibrant heritage and traditions. Students too uncover the school’s legacy through interactive experiences. The space is thoughtfully infused into several lessons from Primary 5 to Secondary 1, where playful discovery evolves into meaningful learning, fostering curiosity, pride, and a lasting connection with the heritage and traditions that continue to shape their school journey. |
