Pastor Ong Kah Mok worked with Mr Koh Chee Hou, a teacher from Tao Nan School to set up the school. On 12 October 1912, Ai Tong was founded.

In 1916, Ai Tong relocated to two three-storey units at Telok Ayer Street.

To ease the problem of overcrowding, the old site of Gan Eng Seng School on Cecil Street was rented to set up a branch school (1946).

The school shifted back to 100 Bright Hill Drive in 2016. A trendy and elegant main entrance welcomes our students and staff, as well as visitors to the school.

School History

Ai Tong School was established in 1912. The school was initially housed in a Methodist church on Boon Tat Street. In 1917, it relocated to 209 Telok Ayer Street. The Hokkien Huay Kuan took over Ai Tong School in 1929. In 1946, a branch school opened at the old Gan Eng Seng School premises. In 1956, the main school moved to the Hokkien Huay Kuan building at 137 Telok Ayer Street. Ai Tong School became a government-aided school in 1957, and in 1980, it became an integrated school. The new building at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 was officially opened in October 1981. Ai Tong became a Special Assistance Plan school in 1989. In 1993, the school relocated to 100 Bright Hill Drive, and it underwent PRIME in 2004. In 2017, Ai Tong School celebrated its 105th anniversary.
