School History

CHIJ Opera Estate Primary School was established in 1959. It was set up to cope with the growing demand for places in CHIJ Primary Schools.

In 1990, the school merged with the Primary section of Katong Convent to form CHIJ (Katong) Primary and occupied the renovated premises at 17 Martia Road.

School Crest

Crest of Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus School featuring a red shield with a silver band edged in gold. On the right side of the shield is the Book of Gospels with a silver rosary. On the left is a golden distaff and spindle. The shield surmounted by a gold cross is encircled by a garland of marguerites. The school motto is "Simple in Virtue, Steadfast in Duty". The centre of the badge is red with a silver band fringed with gold. On the right is the Holy Book with silver beads. On the left is a distaff and spindle.
