Rope Skipping is one of the school’s flagship CCAs. Students gained rich experience through the school’s participation in multiple competitions over the years including those at the national level.

The first photo shows the Staff Interaction Day after ECPS and DPS merger was announced to help staff from both schools interact and bond. The second photo captures memories of the school’s Student Interaction Day to prepare students from both schools for merger in 2019. The experience had helped ECPS students build a sense of belonging in the merged school.

School History

East Coast Primary School was established in 1982 as a government co-educational primary school. It received the students of Jaya Primary School when the latter closed down in December 1998. In 2001, East Coast Primary School relocated to premises at Chai Chee Lane. It had merged with Bedok North Primary School in 2000, and later with Damai Primary School in 2019.

East Coast Primary School’s Learning for Life Programme (LLP), ‘Modular Co-Curricular Activities’, focuses on the development of 21st-century competencies through co-curricular activity modules. Another of the school’s LLP, ‘Thinking Art’, provides students with a strong foundation in art and equips them with a progression of skills from different art genres.

School Crest

The three full masts in red and turquoise form the acronym of the school name. They are set against the yellow rising sun to symbolise a ship, moving at full steam, appearing in the horizon. The school on its voyage in search of excellence and new frontiers is likened to the explorers of yore who possess great courage and the willingness to take risks.
