School History
Rosyth School was established in 1956 at Rosyth Road. In 1983, the school was selected to host the Gifted Education Programme and was relocated to Parry Avenue in 1984. In 1995, the school was selected as a pilot school in the Accelerating the Use of Information Technology Programme.
In 2001, the school relocated to its present premises at Serangoon North Avenue 4. Rosyth’s new building was officially opened the following year.
In 2005, the school celebrated its 50th anniversary. In 2016, the school celebrated its 60th anniversary.
Rosyth School was accorded the Applied Learning Programme, ‘Augmenting Science Learning through Innovation’, and the Learning for Life Programme, ‘Aesthetics Integration@Rosyth’.

1956 | Establishment of Rosyth School at 29 Rosyth Road. |
1960 | Designated a post-primary centre. |
1974 | The Institute of Education (IE) adopted Rosyth as one of the Experimental and Demonstration Schools. |
1983 | Selected as one of the two primary schools to pilot the Gifted Education Programme. |
1984 | Relocated to the nearby former Parry Secondary School building at 30 Parry Avenue. |
1992 | Implementation of Day School Programme. |
1995 | Selected as a pilot-school in the Accelerating the Use of Information Technology Programme (AITP). |
2001 | Relocated to its current premises at Serangoon North Avenue 4; Official launch of the school’s core values, I-CARE (Integrity First, Care & Share, Adventurous Spirit, Respect & Responsibility, Excellence in All We Do). |
2002 | Official opening of Rosyth’s building at 21 Serangoon Avenue 4. |
2005 | Celebration of 50th anniversary. |

School Motto
Ready to Serve
School Crest
The original version of the crest was an etched metal. The elements comprise a candle, stripes, white and blue colours and the school motto, ‘Ready to Serve’. Chinese scholars and clergymen of medieval times depended on the candlelight for the long hours of learned reading and writing, as electricity had not been invented then.
Knowledge has long been documented in the form of pictograms, symbols and the written word. While the mode of reading may differ from one ethnic culture to another, the horizontal line formation has been the general accepted norm. The stripes represent the written page. The shield format is associated with one arming himself/herself with knowledge.
The motto aims to inculcate in the students a sense of civic consciousness and be ‘Ready to Serve’ the country, community and family to whom they belong.
