School History
Swiss Cottage Secondary School started in 1962, housed at the premises of Raffles Institution on Bras Basah Road. In July 1963, the school moved to the Swiss Cottage estate along Dunearn Road and was officially opened in November that year. In 1993, the school relocated to its present premises at 3 Bukit Batok Street 34. In 2013, the school celebrated its 50th anniversary.
The school’s Applied Learning Programme is in the domain of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, known as ‘Applied Sciences for Sustainable Development’. Its Learning for Life Programme is in the domain of community and youth leadership, known as ‘Swiss Thoughtful Leadership Programme’.

School Crest
The crest is headed by five stars symbolising equality, peace, progress, justice and democracy. These are ideals on which a brotherhood of people can be built. Below is a torch signifying the light of knowledge and the love of learning. Encompassing it are five rings symbolising sports and how they connect people. The five horizontal bands denote the five houses as rivals in competition but steadfast in fraternity.
