School History
Woodlands Primary School was originally known as Sungei Kadut School, which was established in 1953. In 1976, the school had to be demolished for industrial development and relocated to Marsiling Road in Woodlands New Town. The school was renamed Woodlands Primary School. In 1978, the school was officially declared open.
In 1986, Woodlands Primary School relocated to Woodlands Avenue 1. In 2003, the school moved to its present premises at 10 Woodlands Drive 50.

School Crest
The school crest shows a lion’s head which is synonymous with Lion City, Singapore. ‘WDP’ stands for Woodlands Primary School, and the book represents knowledge and enlightenment. The torch represents a burning desire for knowledge. The school colours are red, yellow and orange.
