School History

Yew Tee Primary School was established on 3 January 2000 in Yew Tee, whereupon it received its first batch of 214 students. The school initially functioned at a holding site in Unity Primary School. On 20 July 2002, the school was officially declared open at its current premises at 10 Choa Chu Kang Street 64.

In 2013, the school underwent PERI upgrading, and it commenced as single-session in 2016. The school enrolment is currently about 1,300 students.

2002	Official opening of Yew Tee Primary School by former Minister for Transport Mr Yeo Cheow Tong.
2006	Staged first musical production, Chris Galistan and the Seven Seeds.
2007	First Community Involvement Programme, ‘A Collaboration of Hope’, in Cambodia.
2012	Change of school uniform.
2013	Introduction of the Total Curriculum Framework to support holistic education in school; start of PERI upgrading of school.
2014	Celebration of 15th anniversary at the Republic Cultural Centre.
2014	Launch of Applied Learning Programme, DREAM@YTPS, and Learning for Life Programme, HEROES@YTPS.
2017	Refreshed Student Vision Outcomes – school values and level-based observable behaviours were revised.
2019	Celebration of 20th Anniversary “Yew Tee I Wish – A million dreams for Yew Tee”.

School Crest

The school crest shows two Chinese characters ‘Yu Zhi’, which means ‘nurturing young minds’. The book represents knowledge and wisdom. The shield, used in olden times by knights, symbolises the integrity and moral ethical values of the bearers. The banner and three arrows symbolise success and achievements beyond academic accomplishments. The entwined arrows symbolise creativity, the flaming torch stands for achievements in sports and co-curricular activities, while the handshake and heart represent racial harmony and care for others.
